what are the consquences of buying make up from e.g argos etcWhy wouldnt you ever buy cheap make up?
There are a few reasons why I don't really buy cheap make-up, but that doesn't mean say that I wouldn't buy cheap make up at all.
I usually buy the more expensive make-up because: it lasts longer (you can wear it longer during the day without having to re-apply), it's more sensitive on the skin and you are less likely to come across harsh chemicals.
On the other hand, some products are just as good but more cost effective. I wouldn't advise you to buy a product just because it's expensive, but make sure you know what you are putting on your skin. There are chemicals that can cause the skin to irritate (at the very least).
You'll also notice in the more expensive products the coverage and the consistency is more rich and has a nicer texture. So sometimes it is worth investing in good make up i.e. Lancome, Molten Brown, Pupa, etc. As opposed to the value products i.e. Argos etc, because in the long run it's cheaper and healthier.
I hope this helps. Why wouldnt you ever buy cheap make up?
Cheap makeup makes people skeptical. They buy the more expensive brands because they are trusted. A lot of them use over 95% natural ingredients, and are well made. They are of good quality and have many different pigments. Whereas the cheap brand X makeup has so many different things in it, and usually clogs your pores. It could damage your skin and you could have an allergic reaction, etc. Although it's possible to have a negative reaction to the higher end makeup, people like to use things they can trust.
There's not really any consequences tbh. Yes, top end stuff is better quality but I've had reactions to top end as well as cheaper brands.
Top end isn't more natural, clarins uses alot of chemicals %26amp; such even though they say they don't. Just look up their ingredients.
Argos tend to do make up kits %26amp; if you think you will use all the colours %26amp; products then go for it but if think you won't use many then don't :) Buy them separately. My sisters had eyeshadow palletes like that from Ebay %26amp; loves them :) Never had a bad reaction.
I use a mixture of pricier %26amp; cheap stuff. I've never used a palette from Argos (though my friend bought one %26amp; loved it!).
For my foundation I go for a pricier one as I've got dry, sensitive %26amp; funny coloured skin so I just go for what suits. I've tried cheaper ones but never found one that worked.
For mascara I go for Maxfactor or the cheerfully cheap Rimmel which I pick up at markets for even cheaper!!
Skincare I use tescos organics :D cheap but pretty cool on my skin.
Just weigh it up, if you like it why shouldn't you get cheap make up? Sometimes it won't be as good but it all depends on whether you have the money %26amp; whether you truly can justify spending such money on something you just take off at the end of the day.
If you want some bargainous make up go up to the Barry M (BRILLIANT PIGMENT!! %26amp; colour), Collection 2000 (pretty amazing), Rimmel, Contance Carroll (its in markets %26amp; is fine for nail varnishes), Gallery (same as Constance Carroll), Bourjois (top end budget buy but very good quality!), Beauty UK (in superdrug, its cheap but nice!), Miss Sporty (fine for lippies %26amp; one of their mascaras always gets good reviews!), W7 (in Tj Hughes %26amp; Ethel Austin) %26amp; there's many more really.
It's gonna be fine for your skin %26amp; will carry the same risks as high end stuff so don't worry about it. If you do have an allergy then you will have a pallette you can't use though!
Hope this helps xx
I would never buy one of those sets from Argos because it would be a complete waste of money- loads of colours and things that would never get used.
I have really sensitive skin so I have to be really careful with what make up I use. Once I have found something that I can use and that looks ok I tend to stick to it- if cheaper make up brands serve this purpose (such as Collection 2000) I will use it.
to be honest i only use rimmel london products and i am happy with buying expensie make up because the result is really good. the concequences can be really bad that can lead up to spots... annd darker skin if its really bad quality and always take ur make up of with a good make product for make up remover because it deals with ur skin a lot more softer and delicatelly
Makeup is always a hit or miss type of thing that varies for each person. Some cheap makeup products are great, but then again some cheap products are...cheap. You figure out what works best simply through trial and error. just because it was from CVS or Walgreens doesn't necessarily mean it sucks.
What's most important is technique, use the right brushes, don't forget to blend out the harsher edges. and if you eyeshadow is not as pigmented as you'd like it to be, mix it with visine or water to make the color more vibrant. theres not much you won't be able to work with.
I think drugstore makeup is a hit n miss. And so is department store makeup. I had some MAC foundation and it looked like crap, I tried some drugstore foundation and it dried out my skin, I went to BareMinerals and it made my face burn. So I have decided to not wear foundation and just wear a tinted moisturizer since I have clear skin. Like I said hit n miss. I have some Maybeline Waterproof Mascara which I looove even more than my Too faced mascara that was 20 bucks. I love my Revlon color stay eye liner and cant live without my MAC bronzer and blush :o)
The foundations can sometimes be heavy and oily, the eyeliners can be too ahr and hardly show up etc. But some of the best make up I have, I have picked up cheap so it just depends what products you want and ALWAYS try it out on your hand before buying it. :)
cheap cr*ap clogs ur pores and ruins ur skin. i am still youong and i use only the best expensive brands because they use minerals and natural ingredients and it is worth the price becuase i dont want to ruin my skin for when i am older.

Do you mean drugstore makeup? I buy lots of drugstore brands. Some are really great quality and some are complete ****. It's kind of hit and miss most of the time, but you can find some great deals with cheap makeup.
I do buy drugstore makeup.
I just think that some people buy higher ended stuff because it's more pigmented and nicer looking or something.
I just don't have the money for all that and I'm doing just fine.
I buy cheap make up sometimes - i have everything from MAC to Collection 2000 in my make up bag. There is a use for it all. Cheap make up can look good - you just have to be good at applying it
You dont get a true colour match, it normally comes in boxes with loads of colours you will never use.
Plus you get a ton make up which you wont be able to use before it goes out of date.
some times you could be allergic to the contents of the cheaper makeup.
most cheap make up are tested on animals.
because its not better quality, it fades quicker or similar consequences.
hope this helps.
well some drugstore make up is ok some isnt, just like with high end, some is and some isnt.
in some cases ';you get what you pay for'; but its just trial and error
it can make ur face ichy and ur eyes might get infected or they much hurt rele bad if mascara gets in
its might clog ur poors
It doesn't last long and it probably damages your skin more.
Do Argos sell make up? Maybe a trowel to put it on with!
because it is not good for your skin it clogs your pores and brings you out in spots
B/c u get what u pay for.
