What to buy when buying make up for the first time?

I know what line of cosmetics I want to try, but I just don't want to go over bored on what to get. I know that if I don't ask this I most likely will.

So, what should a first time buyer get? What to buy when buying make up for the first time?
I dont know how old you are, depending on your age if you have nice skin, get a tinted moisturizer or just use a pressed powder you dont need foundation. Depending on what your eye color is, there many options for your eyeshadows. If you have blue eyes, get more bronzes or amber colored eyeshadows, if they are green get more plum colored eyeshadows, brown, try earthy tones. When your starting out you may want to get a quad, which mean they have four shadows in one compact. Get a eye liner in brown and a mascara. Try a netural blush and lip gloss in a peachy or pink tone. What line are you choosing, I can tell you what my favorites are, thhe beauty advisor will be able to help you, just dont get sucked in and have them sell you more than what you need. You may even just want to go online and buy a beauty kit. http://www.eyeslipsface.com/kits/get_the鈥?/a>What to buy when buying make up for the first time?
make sure you get a foundation or tinted moisturizer (i prefer tinted moisturizer). also get a face powder, one blush, an eyeshadow with natural colors that differ slightly and should have a white included, masquera and a cover up stick (it looks like a lipstick container but is a stick of cover up). lip gloss too if you like
honestly, all you need is foundation mascara eyeliner and maybe a lipstick/gloss.. as you find you want to try more stuff, you can buy more.

Normally I would suggest getting palettes (sets which include a lot of make up in one), but you already have your mind set on a line. If you want to consider this, look here at the Sephora website.. it'll save you a lot of money and they do deliveries too:

This one I just got an e-mail from Sephora, all you have to do is join the Beauty Insiders Club (free) and you can order it:

It has so much stuff in it, but no eyeliner and mascara and stuff so yeah..
Get an eye shadow quad or trio in some neutral shades of brown/beige, mascara, and maybe a nude lip gloss. You should keep it simple and natural until you become better at the application of make up. You don't want to go out and buy a bunch of blacks and purples and attempt a smokey eye because you'll end up looking bad. You could pick up an eye liner pencil if you're comfortable with that too. Just use a steady hand and don't go to thick. I think once you've mastered the basics, you can go on to more dramatic looks.

EDIT: I guess I forgot to mention foundation because it was years until I started wearing foundation along with my other makeup. But you could definitely look into that as well.
BASIC MAKEUP KIT:

-liquid foundation/tinted moisturizer

-volumizing black mascara

-blush

-eyeliner (if you have fair skin i would suggest dark brown or steel, black can look harsh if a beginner applies it)

-nude colored eyeshadow

-lip gloss pallet

-makeup brushes would be a good idea but they aren't required

do NOT buy cheap foundation. it will make you look orange. orange is never attractive. match the color to your neck. if you want a foolproof option, pick tinted moisturizer. it adds a bit of coverage without the complication of picking shades and blending.

a peach blush looks good on many people. again, if you can afford it, buy a nice blush, it will look more natural. if not, apply sparingly. It would also be a good idea to get a big fluffy blush brush, even a very cheap one. they are way better then the small ones you get with the blush, that make streaks on your cheeks.

eyeliner and eyeshadow are good to have around, but if you don't know what you are doing, do not use them, or use sparingly. for a natural ';this is what i look like, just a little better'; look that is good for new makeup users, just use tinted moisturizer, blush, a nude eyeshadow all over your lid for a bit of sparkle, and mascara. When you become more experienced buy more makeup.
If you want a subtle look, I would start with face powder, mascara (waterproof), lip gloss and a shade of eye shadow that compliments your skin tone. The key is picking the right colors for your hair/skin tone and eyes. You dont want to look like you just started wearing make up for the first time and picked up any color off the shelf. Just buy a few things, learn how to apply it and buy more if you need to. Also, the colors will look different when you get outside in the natural light. Keep that in mind.
